Clutch Master Push Rod Qustion

My clutch pedal felt like crap, being very brake pedal like and having engagement point always on bottom no matter what. Decided to pull the master and the push rod, turns out somebody who did a 5speed swap on my car decided it would be a good idea to weld a bolt to what seems like a brake master push rod, now this contraption is welded crooked and most likely not even the right length. I cannot find the rod for sale at a parts store so I decided to make my own out of a SINGLE piece of metal, or if someone has one they want to sell.

I would like to find out the length of the stock clutch push rod, or if someone has one for sale.

Thank you!

Wasn't sure if it came with it or not, I know the slave cylinders come with the rods, are you sure the clutch master comes with one as well?

Are you talking about the clutch pedal rod? The piece that is attached to the pedal assembly, if so that is likely something you will not find from a auto parts store. Better chance going to a dealership or hit up the for sale section and get one from a car being parted out rather than making your own.

Another rx7 owner said his did come with the rod, Ill have to see when the master gets here, I need a new on anyway. If it doesn't come with one I would really like to have an original part, dont want to butcher another master

I bought the rod separately from Mazda. My OEM replacement master did not come with one. I would not expect it to. It's part of the clutch pedal assembly.

If that rod is the one that attaches to the clutch pedal and has an adjustment nut on it,That part is about 8 bucks from Mazda.
I got one about a year ago.

Ok, so here's a conclusion to this thread for people who will stumble upon it later;

Clutch masters do not come with the pushrod that attaches to the pedal assembly
The rod can be purchased from Mazda Dealer for around 5$

i think that comment about the rod was for the slave, the slaves all come with the pushrod for the fork.

I'm gonna bring this back from the dead, but better than starting a whole new thread. Does anyone have the Mazda PN for the master cylinder rod? I have tried searching on the web and have not found any hits. I even went to several OE Mazda part finder pages with no luck.

Oh man, you killed it. I am so appreciative. I didn't know about that resource, but I have it bookmarked now.

Just in case someone comes across this, all parts for the pushrod are as follows.

Rod, Clutch: 0727-41-131

Fork/ Clutch Pedal: 0305-41-140

Clevis Pin: 0187-46-683

I actually had an old bent rod sittin about 2 feet away from me in a drawer..I kept it and put it back ..In the NEW wrapper.
So all the info on parts # was there, left on the tag.
BUT I double checked the parts manual just to be sure.

I bought a paper version years ago..so I have that as "back up"..heh!

* remember that rod is the adjustable rod on the Master.. that is held onto the clutch pedal and slides into the master.

It is NOT the Slave push rod.(that goes from slave to clutch fork on The Transmission).
