Clutch installation - Exedy Clutch Kit?

Hello I am needing to replace my clutch due to some recent problems. I am probably doing this project by myself and I need some adivce on which clutch and other parts to buy. I have searched a while but not found clear answers about a few things.

I want a clutch for the street and that will have good clamping force. I am not too worried about the extra pedal stiffness. . .

That being said, is the Exedy stage 1 Clutch Kit (p# 10806) a good clutch. I have read much about the ACT clutch's, but they are expensive. Has anyone had any bad experiance with the Exedy? I found one for $280 on http://www.velocityfactor.net/wwwroo...idproduct=1223

I was planning to get the following parts while reaplcing the clutch:
Front Trans Seal
Real Trans Seal
Pilot Bearing Seal

I read something about the Rear Eccentric Seal. Does this need to be replaced too? Why?

Any help about any of this would be GREATLY appreciated!

Not if it isn't leaking... you definitely don't need to replace if it you're not taking the flywheel off.

Well I would be resurfacing the flywheel. . . But nothing is leaking that I know of. So should I replace this if I take off the flywheel or only if there's a leak?

Uh, no.

My car's stock clutch almost always feels inadequate, and every time I do something even close to a drag launch (typically it's me just trying to get across a road really quickly) I get that wonderful burnt roadkill smell in my cabin... despite the fact that theres plenty of life left in my disk.

Not to mention the shifting feel can be described as "mushy" at best.

Stock clutches are (almost) never suitable for track use. Just because you have no power doesn't mean it's okay to use a wimpy clutch... drag and road racing both require a LOT out of a clutch so it's never a bad idea to upgrade (actually it's basically a requirement).

I can tell from one look at the disc that it doesn't. It basically looked brand new (the pressure plate too).

I loved the Centerforce Dual friction. Pedal was almost stock, and it held up on my TII for drag races and autocrosses. Several seasons of autocrossing. I made about 230RWHP. I would also add on a throw out bearing. They usually come with a clutch kit, but not always.

slpin, I currently have the "Stock $100" clutch kit in my car and it only has about 10,000 miles, but before this clutch the previous owner had a new engine with clutch installed. I thought that this was the stock clutch and was very satisfied, but then I had it replaced... Since then the $100 clutch was VERY unsatisfactory in preformance. When quick shifting and letting the clutch out swiftly, the revs would not come together right away but it was MUCH less direct feeling.

KNOWING THAT, I'm replacing the whole clutch b/c my throw out bearing is bad. (The shop that installed the $100 clutch didn't resurface the flywheel) I did finally purchace the Exedy Clutch. . .
