clutch fan questions

clutch fan questions

is there any way that i can loose the damn clutch fan cover (big black thing under the air snorkel) without screwing up air flow to the rad???

i want to keep the clutch fan, but i wanna clean up the area. and that big black thing is really ugly (imho)

I say no. It basicly directs airflow where it needs to go durring city driving (under 40mph).

I'd say no as well. It creates a good low pressure zone between the fan and the radiator that draws air through the coils. Without it, you'd be just blowing air onto the front cover and not really doing much of anything.

I do agree that it's a huge chunk of plastic that can get in the way occasionally, but hey, it makes a great tool holder once you get a cone filter and ditch the intake chunk that goes over it.

All of this has been covered before. A simple search for "fans", "flex fans" and "electric fans" shoudl do the trick.

The topic of all types of fans has been beaten to death.
