Clutch depressed at start removal...

Just curious, don't plan on doing this anytime in the near future, but i'm looking at the ECU pinouts, and 1Q is for clutch switch. Is that the wire that tells if the clutch is in or not or something unrelated? Basically if it was, what would you have to do make it think its on at startup, for like a remote starter?

i dont know really know what your talking about but wouldnt if the clutch is engaged and its in gear when you start it, wouldnt it roll the car a little and probably not even start? like wouldnt the starter motor be trying to drive the car.

no that wire is for the button that the clutch depresses/relieves when you engage it.. its a small push button on the bottom of the dash... to remote start the car you will have to disable this button because it prevents you from starting it without the clutch depressed... and to have remote start you would have to leave the car in neutral all the time, otherwise it would not start.. it would grind the flywheel up if you tried im sure.... and leaving it in neutral is putting way too much faith in the emergency break imo.... if you live in flatlands that would be ok but here i park on hills wayy to much to trust just the brake... good luck with whatever you do

Yeah, keep it in neutral, duh.

You can splice into the clutch switch I would assume and make it think it's always there.

no i believe if you were to install it you would have to do away with the switch completly... the switch breaks the circuit telling the ecu the clutch is not engaged... when you depress it it then completes the circuit... double check me on this but im sure you would have to cut the wire and rewire it past the switch so the switch does not exist and the ecu thinks the clutch is always engaged because of the completed circuit... a friends car is like this i believe because he can start it without the clutch engaged

The clutch switch that inputs the "engaged" signal to the ECU is a different clutch switch than the one that interlocks the starter system, guys...Turn into Gumby and look under the steering column area. Now, see the switch forward of the peddle linkage? That's your starter interlock clutch switch...Now crane your neck even more and look aft of the linkage. See that other little switch? That's your ECU input switch, and actuates as soon as the peddle is pushed, much like the brake lights switch, if it's adjusted correctly. Now, take a couple of aspirin for the headache you now have from trying to squeeze your heads under the dash

I hardly ever put my car in gear, usually not hills where I park. Again I don't even plan on doing this, I was just curious.
