clutch is acting up.

87tii

catch point moved to about 1 inch off the floor. Fluid level has gone down about 1/4th in the past 3 weeks.

sometimes when i push on the petal a little bit it almost snaps down to the 1 inch off the floor position. I pull on it with my toe and it comes back up.

the petal has waw more throw than normal from the fully up to the point where i feel some resistance.

I need to fix this tomarrow... my buddys thing the clutch cylinder or something is bad/leaking. or something....

The clutch it self holds fine once its engaged.... dosent slip.

any ideas or things to check would help.

yo, your hydraulics are shot. i would just go to mazdatrix.com, and order a new slave, a new master and the lines for the clutch, that will fix it up most likely.. I say to get both slave and master because if you just get a slave, and it fixes your problem, the master will go out soon because the pressure is better on the slave... if that makes sense.. im bad at explaining things. Anyways, you can also get them off this guy on ebay for cheap, he also has UBER fast shipping: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws1/eBayISA...8&frompage=222

But yeah, sounds like its time for new hydraulics.

edit* Sweet.. 1600th post!

A quick test:
The clutch fluid should be as clear as the day you first filled it.
If it has become dark, that's worn off rubber from the piston cup.
The piston cup wears when the calendar bore starts to corrode.
