Question 89-91 turboII, Gtu and Gtu-s (S5)

Does anybody know how many of this car were sold in the Usa. from 89-92 only.

TurboII
Gtu
Gtu-s

I am just curious because i am looking for the turboII (s5) but they are pretty rare here in FLORIDA.

I hope i am in the right forum.
I did search, but no answer to my questions.

Thanks in advance.

Tito

i know in 89 about 1100-1200 GTUs where made in 90 ONLY 100 then stopped so about 1300 are produced probably less then half of that is actually on the roads still. BUT I got one HAHA and love it. Just got some stang rims and some s-03 rubbers cant wait until i get them painted and on my car. I'll make a forum once i get it done and with pictures.

Annual production numbers listed here:
http://www.mazdamark.com/about_the_s5_fc.htm

The S5 TII isn't that rare in Florida, but it is hard to find one at a good price because this model is the most popular among teenagers.

As I look into my Evil crystal ball, I see that you did not bother to read the link I posted, nor did you read any of the "Sticky" threads at the top of this 2Gen forum.

It is not easy to swap TII into an n/a. It's very laborious but not technically hard. The rear-end and tranny swap being a bitch. If I were you I would get a S5 n/a with a good body and paint. Buy a 13B-RE(Cosmo Jspec motor). Get an ems(engine managment system, ie. microtech ect.........) fuel injectors, fuel pump, ignition....tII tranny, clutch kit, dirveshaft, rear-end halfshafts,. This would be a very mean car, the only part yuo would need to decide for yourself if the Turbo you're going to get. I like to think of my GTUs as a GTUt......

I like that....GTUt.......

it's not hard.......I spent about a month on mine only working on weekends........I did the vast majority of the work and my buddy helped out sometimes.......you need the whole motor...I recommend the TII drivetrain because after seeing both driveshafts next to each other I realized how weak the N/A one is and I am assuming it applies to the rest of it. The hardest part was the time constraint I had...Follow this wise advice that was given to me......undo lines and everything connected to the firewall then pull the motor out whole......it made everything so much easier..... I am gonna take pics og the 7 today, will post later.
