Which Clutch?

Looking for a new clutch for a bone stock S5 TII with maybe some mild modification in it's future.

I've been looking at the ACT heavy duty pressure plate with a street disk or a Bonez Street-Comp kit from RP. They are pretty close to the same price.

Is one better than the other, or would it just be a matter of personal preference?

Thanks.

Any specific reason?

I haven't really heard anything either way about the RP kit, maybe because everyone gets the ACT.

Thanks.

I've heard lots of peeps have problems with Centerforce clutches slipping. Unfortunately, I bought a Centerforce clutch before reading all the negative posts. I will have more personal experience with it (crosses fingers) in a couple weeks... after the install and break-in period. I have the RB complete exhaust, TB mod and Walbro fp, so we'll see how it handles that.

Almost all positive recommendations point at ACT clutches. Maybe a better question would be "Which ACT clutch?".

That's probably the better question.

I don't think that I need a 4 or 6 puck disk, a regular one should be fine. Thier site doesn't seem to have any other options for a disk besides the street disk and the 4/6pucks.

Maybe the extreme pressure plate would be the better choice, I don't drive in traffic much due to my eccentric work hours. I doubt the stiffness would bother me much after learning on and driving for years a 5speed Explorer (bet you've never seen one of these).

Thanks.

Many of my coworkers here drive 5speed Fords... Ranger, Explorer and F-150s (including myself). Of course, I do live in Texas! hehe
