Clunk/clack from front driver wheel

Well, it's like a click which happens upon heavy braking and turning the wheel to an extreme turn(ie. U-turn)

It is coming from the fender well somewhere. I am thinkin from the struts somehow.

It strated 2 day ago when i lifted the driver side wheel off the ground to do a radiator drain.

I'm thinking I dropped it down wrong and something isn't sitting right.

Any ideaas?

Check your strut mounts they might be lose. Some times the strut bearing will go out too. If the mount is bad enough you can put weight on the car and see the middle nut move. Hope that helps.

Hmm, I think that might be it.

My SE makes the same clunk sounds when going over bumps and curbs. When I had my struts looked at the guys said the top mounts were going bad.

So I would need the top mount? Is that a Mazdatrix/website part or you think I could grab one off a junk yard car or Ebay?

How can you identify a Bad mount?
It seriously got horrible over night.
Right after I jacked that wheel up it started.

More info on what it does.

It makes crunching clicking noises when turning the wheel at low speeds and when applying braking force of around %40 or more. Upon Braking it makes a compiled crunching sound like stacking.(when suspension attitude moves from rear to front)

I'm kinda afraid of it since I'm driving to Sevenstock in around 2 weeks!

My 87 did this for a while...it made a clunk-noise when braking but not under any other circumstance.

IF i am not wrong it is the front strut mount. Cuz that the only bearing support the wheel when is turning brakeing and stuff. My mazda mx3 had the problem and so did some other guy's mx6 on the forum. IS this a mazda problem??

Go tighten your lugnuts, don't argue, just put a wrench on them and make sure they are tight and haven't gotten lose.

lol, that'd be scary if it were my lugs. I've driven 60+ miles a day this week like this.

I'm thinking strut mount as well, but the noise doesn't really sound like it's coming from that area. My father thought it might have something do do with the steering.
