Clogged cats?
I read that clogged cats could lead to a rough idle, so I figured I'd check em out while trying ot diagnoise and fix my idle problem.
I did a search, and the best I found was to "tap on the cat with a hammer" but what am I supposed to be listening for, and is this even the best way?
I'm guessing my cats are doing allright because I'm still getting good boost, according to the stock gauge.
on a related note, my little rock guard/negative heat shield came off the underside of the cat, is this something I should worry about? get it replaced eventually? before the snow? right away?
thanks for making it through all this

Is your idle bouncy/hunting, or just "rough" ? what do you mean specifically?
