Clicking in first gear?

Hey guys my rx-7 started clicking today while in first gear. As I am driving I can hear a constant click click click, it sounds to be metal. I changed the gear oil and did not change anything. Has anyone ran into this problem before and know what it is? I really dont wanna have to pull the tranny to take a look. This is in a 87 N/A.
