Click noise
Just beginning last week my car has been having a starting problem. The first time it happened my car didn't start that day so I used a different car. The next day before I began to look for the problem I tried to start it and it worked first time. Then it completly stoped working within a week. The engine is still good, because it can be push started and for some reason after the car has been on and warmed up I can turn the car off and start it normally. It is not the battery because I can still play my system.
So I think it must be my starter, but then why can I start my car when it is warmed up to normal opperating temperature. Also the starter will make a clicking noise when the key is turned.
This made me believe it was the motor and not the solenoid. However I have now removed the starter and tested the parts with a battery charger and the solenoid does not shut, but tested the motor seperately and it runs fine.
So my question is, if the solenoid is bad what is the click noise when I turned my key?
