**13B rebuild / replacement**

i have a 1988 gxl, it failed a compression check, and wont run without holding the accelerator down... i live in central virginia, near roanoke. what other places besides atkins rotary will rebuild or sells the kit for the rebuild, and if anyone knows any shops around here that does it, info would be helpful, thanks.

do a search for "Rotary Resurrection" here on the forum. Good price for a good rebuilt engine. It's located about 20 miles away from Nashville, TN.

Yup, I just ordered an engine from him as well. Great pricing and doesn't seem to BS you when you ask him questions. Should have mine in about 2-3 weeks (N/A to T2 upgrade)!

its easier to just do the core exchange than rebuilding it, and about the same on funds...well minus the shipping its usually the sameish. rebuilding is fun and a good learning experience from what ive heard tho, so dont rob yourself of that....

Actually, Im not near nashville, but halfway between bristol TN/VA and knoxville TN. I'm about 3-3.5 hours from roanoke, not a bad drive at all.

I could probably do the rebuild/install on your car for $1600, or $1800 with a moderate streetport, provided you get the car here, and are willing to leave it for about 2-3 weeks. I have a few friends in Charlottesville, I can put you in touch with them if you'd like references other than what you can find on this forum.

BTW, check out the webpage, www.rotaryresurrection.com

One word of warning...when leaving Kevin's house, one must back up a driveway negotiating an elaborate series of strategically place yard lights, which only an experienced auto-X'er can expect to successfully complete. I only took out ONE, 'cause to quote 'Rainman', " Of course, I'm an excellent driver..."
