Cleaning up engine bay, just need some pointers.

Im going to be cleaning up the engine bay, while the engine is out. I have an 88 t2 and am going to be running microtech. I did a search but could not come up with anything. I basically want to get rid of anything not needed in there and simplify as well as paint it. I will be posting pics on my build up. All suggestions are welcomed and thanks everyone in advance for input.

You will need to fillet the harness open to 1) retreive the windshield wiper motor, 2) coolant temperture sensor and 3) alternator wires. This Is easily done as the wires seperate quite easy from the others.

Is that really all you need to keep? Ive seen alot of engine bays that are super empty. I guess thats how. I was planning on just removing the air pump and p/s and some other small junk, but knowing that, I might take out some more
