cleaning the ports...attempt #2

Well theres no going back from here, but i got stuck again. Im following the instructions that are archived. Problem is that I got the upper fuel rail off but not completly. No big deal I figured, so I moved on. Well to remove the upper manifold the fuel rail has to be off or at least out of the way but the lines on the end dont give enough slack, any advice?? Actually now that I think about it, someone can probably hold that down while I pull the manifold maybe.......Well another thing is I cant seem to find all the intake manifold mount bolts. I found one behind the alternator and then on the side (drivers) there seems to be another two on one bracket? Anyone know where the others are?? Pictures would be GREATLY appreciated lol Also wheres the BAC? Thanks again

I'm thinking you are talking about the UPPER intake manifold, The bolts and nuts are: 2 over by drivers side that you found that mount to the engine vacuum harness... Then there are 4 NUTS that connect the upper dynamic chamber to the lower intake manifold.. Then 1 bolt right in the middle (right below the throttle body) make sure all vacuum and electronics are detached and pull it up carefully... TAPE THE INTAKE HOLES IMMEDIATLY TO STOP ANY DEBRIS (rocks, Potato chips, BOLTS) FROM FALLING IN ...

voila the upper intake manifold is removed...

Oh yea, this is what I was gonna ask. Where the fuel injectors goes into the manifold theres like these little net kinda things. I accidently broke one of them cleaning it out, so what should I do??? Does this call for a rebuild lol

Yea I Just put in an order for them. They call them air bleed sockets I think. Damn this sucks, I also had to order a new gasket for the ACV(?) I think and two lines for that so total came out to liek 60 bucks. Dude I hope cost doesnt rise anymore from this point. There was dark red crap gunked all over the runners so Ive gotten most off the upper manifold. Now I need to take the lower manifold off. What should I port while I have the manifold off?

when i did this job it cost me , 170 for all gaskets and otehr stupid **** this includes 2 injector nets, acv gasket, bac gasket, lower intake manifold gasket, upper intake manifold gasket, mid intake manifold gasket, o rings for injectors, 2 OMP lines, washers for omp lines ithink thi swas all. i also had to drive 200 miles to NJ then back to get teh 6 port shaft that was workign one of mine was completely stuck and i could not free it up. abunch of pain in teh ***, i also got www.pineappleracing.com 6 port valve sleeves while i was at it, and port matched teh intake manifolds for better flow. i cahnged all teh hoses to silicone ones 15 feet hose that i had wasnt enough i see about another 3-5 feet of hoses i need to replace i woudl do this if i were u its a good idea to do this now while everythign is appart. i also bead blasted my intake manifolds to clean tehm all out of carbon , there was a lot of **** there. the previous owner must have never driven the car past 3k rpm. AND i freakign broke the 6 port solenoid while cahnging all the hoses. so now the actuator dont work anyway so i bypassed the solenoid to work off of pure pressure witout it being electronically controlled. it kicks in as soon as it builds up 4 psi in the system...the air pump that is. my car was now faster at low end since they used to be stuck before and now they are closed.. but my low end sucked cause at the time i checked this i just didnt have the 6 port actuators pluged in, then i just ran them open and the car was also noticebly faster up top, so if everything works right my car shoudl be pretty quick. for now they are almost open all teh time until i get that damn 6 port solenoid. ok i typed enouf , though this would help
