Cleaning the BAC

On my previous post it was mentioned a possible fix to my high idle problem was a sticking BAC and to clean it. Not wanting to really mess it up- how do you clean one of these.

Spary carb cleaner into BAC. Fill it up around the seal assembly. Let it sit for a while, clean it out, then check seal. If you can blow through tube and air leaks past the seal it's still leaking.

And awhile giving It a shot of carb cleaner, apply 12 volts to It In an on and off fashion to work the piston In. After doing this, blow out as much of the remnants as possible.

I ran a loose extension of wire directly to the Battery. This was done awhile the BAC Valve was off the car.

lol...funny you said that. I used a portable battery I bought from crappy tire (in case my battery dies at night, during the winter, with a snow storm, etc.) and used that to apply voltage. It worked.

Thanks.

Also, the gasket still looks fine. Should I reuse it or use RTV gasket maker?

I couldn't do a repeat again as exactly described. My BAC Valve Is ditched due to the Microtech LT8 having this feature as an option and my Battery has since been relocated to the cabin.
