Cleaned injectors, won't start.

At least it isn't blown. Seemed like it was flooded. Tried the 2 stroke oil procedure. Still won't start.

Ack.

The oil is to help build compression and is not for deflooding. You can check the pins at the ECU to make sure the primary injectors are hooked up correctly. You need to check the plugs for any wetness and deflood the engine in a proper manner. If need be spray 1 to 2 seconds of starter fluid into the air intake and w/the fuel system rendered to see if it at least briefly fires up.

Pull the plugs if you think the engine is flooded to be sure. Does the engine try to catch at all? You could always pull the codes from the ECU to be sure everything is as it should be

When I first tried, it kicked a couple of times. Now it's just cranking. The tach bounces a Tibet bit.

It started

I ran the unfolding procedure twice, but it finally started. I took it for a four mile run. Ran good, but it's idling at about 3K. I think I should clean the sock in the tank before tracking down the problem with the idle.

Thanks for your help.

I approve of clean socks but wonder what connection there is between the sock and the high idle?

Once I changed a fuel filter that hadn't been changed in 130k miles. It almost overwhelmed the computer. It was a 1992 Saturn, but I want to save myself the trouble of having to readjust everything if I experience a similar phenomenon.

Well again, by all means change the sock, that's a good thing.
Sad to say though, your ECU has been "overwhelmed" since about 1993 and has no way of even knowing about fuel flow, much less adapting to it.

I cleaned the sock. Now it won't idle at all. The search for a vacuum leak begins.

Are you 100% sure that you reconnected the injector wires into the right injectors?

Was your car running before you cleaned the injectors?

How did you clean your injectors?

Have you adjusted your tps? If yes, how?

I am sure that I have the injectors connected correctly. I checked the colors of the wires. I sent them out to be cleaned and rebuilt be Marren. I have not yet set the TPS.

Right now, I notice an injector leaking. I pulled it out for inspection. I damaged the o-ring when I installed it. I'll get a new o-ring tomorrow.

install a spare CAS and spin it by hand with the key on and listen for 2 distinct injector clicks. it could be just due to the leak, perhaps not.
