Honda's were made for gas milage and
economy. Rx-7 is made to perform.
But with almost any car money talks.

I have a freind with that same b18 twin cam vtech
motor in his civic. Go to team fc3s website and
see the build tips for stage 3 turbo II build up.
That will set him straight. But if you have a n\a
look in the 2nd gen facts on turbo in a n\a.

vtech is a phone
civic hb with a b18, is quite fast. It really depends more on the driver and who takes off the line quicker. If that hb has a B18C1 from a gsr, stock, you guys will probably be head to head. Don't underestimate the power the honda/acura VTEC Motors. Once the vtec kicks in, its almost over if your car is nearly stock.

i dont like civics much, true hondas redline high and all but there way too played out, i dont want a car that 1000 other people i know own it just isnt fun , sure we all own rx7s but how many people own rx7s ?

my car is streetported (mild), lightflywheel, dual friction clutch, mods to come are exhaust and safc, also plan to turbo it with 5-7 psi

hopefully with the turbo i should be right next to the turboed b16's and b18s/h22's , i really dont like honda much they are just soo played out seriously how many riced out civics do u see ? sure there are some really fast ones but thats after they put like 10,000 into the engine

yeah hondas are played out, im very experienced with hondas/acuras but seeing all my friends with a honda, i decided to go with a rotary, and you must be talking to people that dont know much bout hondas spending 10,000 on their cars. I know many friends around my town that have cars putting 400+ hp to wheels under $5,000. honda's/acura's are deadly when done right but they dont have anything on a tricked out rotary

half of those people havent touched an lsd so are doing 1 wheel fwd burn outs with 400 hp......sad. lets see them civics try to turn good though.

however...on the note of civics. this guy that owns a car shop in town, 10-15 min from me, is still working on his rwd civic. all i can say is f**cking sick! hes made it rhd, engine in the rear, rwd, like ssr 12 inch wheels, custom fenders (stick out 3-4 inches from the door like jgtc cars do), massive 6 pot wilwoods up front, i believe 4 pots back, whole race pedal setup (like each one has its own resevoir), tein n1's all around (hes buddy buddy with tein) with 18kg springs or somethin, i think hes getting something near related to a t66 or so size turbo, whole role cage (dunno how many point), crazy weight reductions, and i dunno.......just a **** load of other stuff. two tire companies offered sponcors but i dont know if he took them up or not because hes thinking about selling it after hes done because hes done a bunch of other stuff to the car before and is just getting kinda sick of it. haha

400HP Civic for 5K? I honestly don't think so. The only person that I knew with a fast civic (10.39ET) put 13K into the car, all in performance mods and the car appeared bone stock.

It sounds like some guy that told me he was pushing 300 hp and ran 13s on a 86 accord. all I saw was a blue sticker and yello wires. I stomped all over him.

That sounds about right. Hondas can hardly get any traction.

Someone move this to the lounge or something. I've seen a ton of fast hondas myself so everyone stop talking about all the fast hondas that your friends have. DEAL? I respect some hondas so dont try and flame me or whatever.

im in the process of helping a good friend and fellow racer build his crx, ls/gsr vtec, block guard, jdm pr3 ecm, safc, avcr, turbonetics t3/t04 hybrid, skunk2 intake mani, custom 2.5 in turbo back dual exhaust, LSD, msd 6al, 450cc inj, str fuel rail, aem fpr, vortech fmu, blitz bov, act flywheel and clutch, i mean you name it, its fast as **** when it hooks up, but lotsa power+front wheel drive+street tires=lotsa smoke and slower than expected times. if you can just keep your cool at the line and concentrate on driving rather then racing it should be a decent run. with just the ls swap and basic bolt on turbo 5psi my guy is running high 13 the 18in yoko parada's. so if this guy has what he says he has you can expect similiar results (high 13-low14) with an average driver. i am not sure what you are running now the an n/a streetport and such but my guess is under 200 hp at the wheels so power may be on his side. practice your holeshot and pray for smooth shifts!!! if all else fails cheat and get a wet nos kit and walbro fuel pump add an extra 60hp for ~$450 off ebay!!!

Having owned both a civic that a put a few grand in, as well as my rex...

The RX-7 wins by it uniquity, everyone has a civic, half the damn world. How many people have RX-7's outside of this forum? Not too many. My car's unique, it draws attention. The ricer civic flies down the road and no one give's a ****.
