the choice...

ok lets see what you people have to say about this... haltech E6X($900-1000? not sure what the price is) or Pettit reprogrammed ECU($700)?

might have some more money coming in soon so one of these may be an option

For the haltech you should factor in more money depending on if you are having someone install it as well as tune it. Dont know anything about the Pettit preprogrammed ECU. I thought they only did stuff for FDs.

programmable is worth the extra money, IMHO. that way, you only spend it once, then when you change something, all you gotta do is tune it.

Exactly. If you are looking to make the investment in a stand alone unit, you may want to find out what rotary tuners in your area prefer, if it is a simple debate over haltech vs microtech vs wolf. Autronic is another stand alone ecu not too well know in the states, but is used quite a bit in Australlia. They have developed a self tuning chip, that allows the unit to tune itself on the dyno. If you are interested in any more information check their site out, our www.ausrotary.com and do a search.
