checking water n oil seals

Hi,
when buying a used FC, any way to check if the seals are bad?
Good compression doesnt equal good seals.

Bad water seals will cause the cooling system to pressurize prematurely... I nice long test drive will tell you if your water AND oil seals are intact. No smoke allowed!!
