Checked the codes for my CEL today.......
Ok guys I have code 9 showing up here and code 13. 9 is water thermo sensor. Thats the one on the rear of the water pump housing correct? #13 is the pressure sensor i'm assuming this is the "boost" sensor that has a vac nipple on the bottom right?
I got one more ? are the water thermosensors for S4 and S5's compatible?

I swapped in what I think is a good working thermo sensor into the water pump housing and i'm still getting the code. the batt. was disconnected while I did it so i'm pretty sure the codes were cleared. :/

Ok the thermo sensor that I put on was on my 87 and I never got a code other than the O2 sensor warming up. How do I make sure I cleared the codes? It says in the FSM to disconnect the batt. but thats what I already did. :/

I had a permanently installed code reader lamp setup on my 87. If there was a code I would have seen it go off.
EDIT i'm checking the codes on my 89. But the sensor is from my 87 which never showed any codes. So the code on my 89 is likely just the old one that dind't get cleared. Other than disconnecting the batt. how do you clear them out?

thermostat is the device in the cooling system that regulates the flow. Thermosensor is used for something else and is just a probe sensor. They are not the same.
