Cheapest pressure plate??

Ok... my freaking car has had a slipping clutch since the day I bought it.
The original clutch slipped..... I put in a new engine and got a rebuilt clutch/pp.. supposedly"stiffer". I couldn't get out of the driveway. That lasted a week. Then I got the shop to make me a new one. That clutch lasted a year.
I just rebuilt the engine again, and since the clutch was almost shot, I put in a perfectly good, used, stock clutch/pp. The clutch has plenty of disc left, it's clean, and the flywheel has just been ground. It still slips under light throttle ! I don't know what the hell is wrong with my car that it won't take a clutch. (The flywheel has plety of step to it too)
Anyways... I'm just going to by a really heavy pressure plate.. what is the absolute cheapest heavy duty pressure plate available???
Thanks

I'd check your hydraulics and your clutch pedal, perhaps the stupid thing isn't unclamping properly.

The hydualics are all fine.. I've replaced the slave and rebuilt the master along the way....
The cheapest I've seen is about 145 at one of the online rx7 stores... can't remember which one now!

I agree w/ SonicRat. Either you have air stuck in the system somewhere (did you bench bleed the Master Cylinder prior to installation?) or your clutch is not being released properly.

Did you or anyone fiddle w/ the adjustment rod that can be found near the clutch pedal? The adjustment rod basically adjusts where the "pickup/release" point of the clutch is. It rarely needs to be touched.

That is the only way to go through clutches quickly. That or, you like doing burnouts all the time.

BTW, is your flywheel still good?

check flywheel

RB streetstrip pressure plate is 145 the one your talking about. Dont get it. IT worked for people at the RB but not me. It still sliped wile speed shifting

You can buy the Racing RB PP for 140...HOlds betters oposevly but if you dont want any headacks just buy an ACT Extreme PP trust me I went through 3 clutches already and this would have saved me a stupid *** headack.

i read somewhere on here that clutches have a break-in period too...and in that break-in period it'll slip so you shouldn't run it too hard for the first few hundred miles of putting it in regardless of it being new and what not...(again, i read it somewhere on here)
but with experience, i've had that happen to me too...in fact my clutch was slipping after i put in my new engine...and it wasn't until about 200 miles ago that it stopped...
maybe you just need to let off the gas a little...
