charging problem

charging problem

i have an 88 rx7 and i just put a new alternator on it but the battery wont hold a charge does any body have any ideas about what i should do or look at thank u

Load test the battery at an Auto parts store.Replace the Battery if it's Crap!..also check your Alternator Connections and make sure they are Clean and also your battery connections.

i did tHST AND THE BATTERYS FINE AND ALL THE CONNECTIONS ARE FINE i tried checking all the body grounds and they all tested fine this is the weiredest thing in the world

So, the battery is fine, and the alternator is charging.
So when you turn the car off, does the car start back up, or doesit feel like it doesnt get enough power to crank?

You probably have a drain on the battery while your car is off. Test for one.

i have the same problem, i'm only getting 12 volts though. battery is good, alt is good. the car will start multiple times, but it eventually drains to the point none of the interior lights will come on. i dread looking through the wiring.

ya iv been lookin for what could b draining the battery. as soon as i turn the car off it want start back up the interior light dont come on nothin i have no idea thanks for the help guys this is such a pain in the ***.

Probably already tried this, but check that all the bolts holding the Alternator on are tight. I had a loose one and the car would run out of juice in a couple blocks.
