I need to replace the drivers side engine mount on an 87 t2. does it require the removal of radiator hoses? removal of the hood? how high up does the engine need to go to get er done?

All you need to do is raise the engine an inch or so with a jack under the transmission.
Why would you need to remove the hoses? They are on the passenger side...
There are replacement instructions for the engine mounts in both the Haynes and Factory Service manuals.

Exactly, just because you know alot about one thing doesn't make you an expert at everything. I could answer a couple hundred questions on autobody, but I'll have a dozen of my own when it comes to rebuilding the engine.
