Changed Auto Trans Fluid and now the car wont start..WTF!!
I changed the fluid and filter in the transmission of the 87 N/a. Put it back together. Then used a prybar a found out both motor mounts where holding the motor...(by the way, any one have spare mounts i could buy?) It worked fine before but now i turn the key and hear a buzz noise from somewhere. What the hell happened?
Things i did --> remove battery cable to set if ECu needed reset.
-->Everything is connected
-->has fuel
My possible --> the shifter is lose as hell. I can move from drive to neutral without pushing the button. Did i somehow F*** up the park or neutral switch!?! i wanted to drive it to the HIN but.....

Buzz... is this the ENGINE-GONNA-DIE buzzer thats also the same as the high-rev buzzer? If so, check oil and coolant levels, perhaps thats the prob.
BTW: I changed my auto tranny filter way back when. The tranny (it was the 2nd) lasted 6 months. After a five speed swap, the 5spd tranny has 6 months on it already and is holding up 100% For the amount spent, the 5sd swap is definately oneo f the best mods for an automatic tranny rx7.

anyway, that would would cause the low buzz sound coming from the engine....that wouldnt be the tranny going STFU!!!!! but it is there yet. I figure that will happen next week or when i fix the start problem....
okay here is the update:
starter soleniod clicks.
no bad fuses or relays
looks like all the wire connections are good.
battery works fine
--> I guess i managed to kill the starter by changing the trans fluid. Someone up there must not want me to go to HIN Tommorow.

i can directly connect the starter to the bat via a jumper cable and if it still goes *click* then im sure i am screwed and need a new or working used
starter. Who check them anyway? Autozone is lazy and the dealer wants as much as a starter would cost for a yes or no.

Did you make sure you didn't unplug any wires from the trans? There are several starter related wires with an auto trans. But a bad starter is very possible. I've had it happen after messing with the tranny.
Not on a manual you don't. I'll explain. I don't know the technicality of this but I'll do my best. Automatic transmissions use a fluid rather than oil. Its kinda like a hydraulic fluid. If you run a manual with no oil what happens? You chew up the gears. Now with an automatic the car won't shift because its hydraulic. Now there are clutch discs in an automatic trans that come in contact with the fluid. If you have muddy or dark auto fluid thats burnt clutch disc particles. Now after time the fluid changes a little bit and bonds with the components of the tranny. Now since the fluid has changed (god I want to say composition but I'm not very smart) you ahave to leave it be till the tranny dies. If you don't flush it completely the new fluid (which is chemically different) will mix with old fluid and ***** up your clutch discs which enables your automatic to shift. I was a victim of this and almost overnight I lost 3,4,and R. Thank god I have a manual now. Anyways I hope I'm not totally full of ****.

umm how completely drained are we talking....and how did you fix the prob. I drained everything that would come out unless there is some chilln in there.
When you drop the pan you only drain about half. When they flush it they use a high pressure pump to flush the entire trans. It won't just seep out if you drop the pan. How many miles are on your trans and what color was the fluid that came out?
Sometimes I have to smack my shifter into park a few times to get it to start... You may have already tried that, but I thought I would mention it. You can try to start it in neutral for the same effect...
