CF hood and 3rd gen rims on today!

I'm happy to say that i got my CF hood from FC3S today and its beautiful and i also got my 3rd gen rims on..but i didn't use a 24mm spacer like most people said i had to use and i only used 2 spacers on the front. and they fit nicely. well i'll have some pics up soon it all looks nice..now all I need is paint. Sorry had to post some good news..it brightened up a bad week!

Why would he? The S5 TII hoods are alum. already if I remember correctly, so a CF hood wouldn't reduce much weight. Its probably for the look, but I could be wrong.

Haven't really posted pics anywhere yet, so I figured i'd lessen the suspense by posting pics of my 3rd gen wheels.

That car looks very nice with the 3gen wheels and lower profile tires. I think that the car would be perfect with about 1" lower all the way around, but, hey, that's just me (I know, I have to nit pick everyone's nice looking cars). I think that the car looks great anyway, and if you're happy with it, then that's all that counts, right?

My original plan was to do suspension this summer after my turboback/wastegate porting was done with, but then my turbo housing decided to crack, so now all my money is going to better fuel control and a stage II hybrid from BNR. Maybe next summer i'll take care of that.

Yeah I'm running slightly lower profile 55's on my 15's and I ended up lowering the car a bit to close the gap but then I had serious camber issues and so I had to buy a kit to fix that and now that I have I figure why not put even sportier tires on it? But then I'd have to lower my car so much I'd scrape on a dime. So now my solution to that problem is upsize the wheels... it just never ends... one mod leads to another mod that leads to another mod and it all makes logical sense at the time but when does progressive enhancement become too much? When you cant afford it. Ah crap

i agree with the others 3rd gen rims look great on FC's

anyone know what kind of weight difference a carbon fiber hood would be compared to the aluminum hood?

the CF hood is quite a bit lighter than the TII alum. the TII alum weighs 30lbs; i think, the n/a alum is 28lbs; again im not 100% sure. the CF ones from FC3S are both under 20lbs the last i checked.

that red TII looks great with FD wheels. Your car should look awesome with that CF hood and FD rims.
