Centrifugal Supercharger Vs. Turbocharger
Which do you recommend on a 13B? Centrifugal Supercharger or Turbocharger?
Also, where could I find a nice carbon fiber hood for my FC?
Thanks,

Its all depends on what your all about for either set up. And for a hood try out http://www.speedmachineperformance.com for a carbon fiber hood.

My opinion turbo is better, but i've never ridden in a supercharged rx-7 so i can't exactly compare.
Do a bit more of a search, there are several threads of this nature, and i'm sure you will find good info.

It'll be easier to turbo the car I'd think, and cheaper too. There's alot more info on turboing an NA than supercharging one, especially with a centrifugal blower. Turbo's are also alot cheaper. I looked into it a while back and a vortech supercharger alone runs around $2000 US for a decently sized one. That said, you can keep the exhaust intact, saving funds. You'll need to budget for an intercooler, piping, fuel upgrades, some sort of engine management, TII upper intake manifolds (I've read that the VDI sucks for forced induction), and if you go for high power a TII driveline would be in order. It's been said many times before, it's cheaper and easier to sell the NA and buy a TII, or if you really want you can do a swap. A turbo will give more power for any given boost level assuming they have comperable specs, and it'll give better response, as the supercharger only boosts at high rpm.

heres a bit of info from superchargeronline.com
The biggest drawback of the centrifugal supercharger is it's inability to make high levels of boost at low engine rpms. Typically, a centrifugal supercharger will make it's maximum (quoted) boost at the engine's redline rpm and nearly nothing at 1500-2000 engine rpm. Boost builds exponentially with engine rpm, meaning that boost comes on very quickly in the upper half of the powerband. While this normally isn't a problem for lighter cars with manual trannsmissions, it poses a significant problem to heavier vehicles, towing vehicles, or vehicles with automatic transmissions. If you have a truck, towing vehicle, or an automatic transmission, you may want to consider a screw-type supercharger, which makes full boost as low as 1500 engine rpm.

I would personally go with a turbo bc of its cost, power potential, and ease of installation. www.1300cc.com (SonicRat on the board) is in the processing of releasing a turbo kit for the N/A:

There are also about 8 million threads on how to custom fab a turbo setup an N/A.

Also you'll be hard pressed to find a centrifugal blower that's a good match for the 13B, even the smallest vortech doesn't offer us much since we're almost on on the surge line with it.
