Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch Problems....

I have a 1988 RX7 with the N/A motor in it. The motor and transmission was working fine, but I just install another motor with an aluminum flywheel and the centerforce dual
friction clutch kit. The motor is a 88 N/A, but the Flywheel and Clutch kit are from an 1st generation 13b. It is the 215mm diameter rather than the 225mm. Now here is the question. I put the transmission on today and with all four wheels in the air and the transmission in 1st gear, the rear passenger wheel moves when you spin the engine. When i put the car on the ground and still in gear I am able to push it back and forth as if it was in neutral. The only thing i noticed is that when I took the old motor out the clutch and pressure plate was clamped together and the clutch could not be moved up or down without loosening the pressure plate bolts. On the centerforce clutch and pressure plate, once I bolted the pressure plate to the flywheel I could still take my finger and move the clutch up and down with no problems. Since I have never used the centerforce dual friction clutch before I was wondering the engine had to be started to allow the pressure plate to clamp down on the clutch or if something is wrong with my setup. If any one has any ideas please let me know.

With the pressure plate bolted to the flywheel it will exert full clamping force on the clutch. When you bolt the PP down it compresses the springs and the throw out bearing pushes on the PP diaphragm to release the clutch. You shouldn't be able to budge the clutch disk when it's all bolted together.

I have been able to move the car around while in gear before with all of the accesories removed. I was replacing the water pump and it was getting late so I pushed my car out of the garage and into the drive way. I then noticed I had easily pushed my car several feet while in gear, just about as easy as if it was in neutral.

I guess I am not sure why you are freaking out?

so if the pressure is torqued down to the proper specifications and the clutch is not clamped down what would the problem be?

all my accessories are in place, and when I turn the motor by hand or even crank it while it is in gear the car doesn't move but the motor does. While it is in the air with no resistance everything acts normal. Its like the clutch is barely making contact with the shaft in the transmission...

Improper assembly or incorrect parts.

The pressure plate was too tall wasn't it? Didn't you notice when you put the transmission in place it didn't mate up flush with the engine?

I am wrong again lol. No it wasn't the pressure plate and the transmission was flush with the engine. I have an aluminum flywheel on there and I was told that it maybe worn down and it its not thick enough for the plate to clamp down on the clutch. I'm gonna pull it all apart once I get the energy to mess with it again. This whole swap has became a nightmare
