Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch Kit

Does anyone have any experience with this clutch? I am somewhat interested and don't really know a whole lot about clutches. I read in a thread that four-puck clutches are for hard drag racing and six-puck clutches are alright for street use/street racing. I like this clutch plate though... it's not a four or six puck.

you will more than likely get biased opinions towards these. I didnt know what the previous owner had on my n/a but it held good and gripped fine..started slipping toward the end (before i put car down for repairs). After taking engine out, i found out that there was this clutch on there and the disc was basically worn down to the rivets. I have read that they suck on 7's and that they work well...so i went ahead and got a xtd sprung 6-puck after reading on those. In my opinion i would not get it, but to each his own. Go with ACT or the like.

I had one in a 91 N/A and I thought it held well. Pedal feel was much firmer.

I used to have one on my tt300z and it was a great clutch for street use. It did not have enough bite for the strip, but from a roll it was great.

I had one on my first RX-7 after I killed a Bonez street/strip clutch. I loved it. Never had any issues with it at all and it held great. I personally do like them and plan to buy one for my current RX-7. I do agree that ACT makes a great clutch as well.

Yours may have been a piece of **** but mine rocked! I don't know hot hot it gets in Maryland (and I suspect not very hot) but here in Texas it gets damn hot and I'm pretty hard on my car from time to time. Never had any issues at all with it. (plain and simple!)

anything over 250hp mark and the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch doesnt seem to
be able to hold it. stock hp it should be fine i would think.
It was fine for the first few hundred miles of hard running but after that
it would start to slip every time at wot.
the spec clutchs seem to be better.
my 2 cents

I had one in my street ported 91 NA. I was probably putting 180-200hp at the flywheel... it held fine no matter what I did to it. I've had a few friends with them in other types of cars with similar torque/rpm ranges.. never heard of one slipping/blowing up. My bonez street/strip blew up prior to the CFDF... but, I have a feeling that was due to a crap install job by the clutch doctors (don't judge me, I was young and naive. hehe). Every clutch I've installed since has done fine.

The reason I like the CF is the pedal feel. In stop and go traffic, some of those ACT clutches can kill your legs when the highway turns into a parking lot. The CF was always forgiving... locked when I wanted it to, slipped when I wanted it to.
