Which cd player matches our interior nicely?
Which cd player matches our interior nicely?
I am getting infinity kappa speakers all the way around in my rx7 TII 4" up front and 6 1/2" in the rear. I need a cd player though as well and can not find one that looks fairly stock and matches the interior lighting really well. Has anyone found any good cd players that do this. I posted in the audio video but i dont think enough people check that out.
Please let me know any info is appreciated

Black face units look better than metalic face styles.
I recommend CD's with MP3 decoders.
You can burn a disc with multiple albums (folders).
They don't skip.
You don't need a changer.
Most now have XM interconnect jacks.
This in my old $69 Wal-Mart stereo.
I have since pulled the metal cap off the volume ****.

The newer alpine decks CDA-9831, 9833, 9835, etc. all have an option to change the text color on the face of the stereo itself, not just the screen. You only have two option, green and orange, but the orange matches the rest of our interior lighting perfectly.
Nakamichi is by far the best looking headunits for our cars. I believe you can get them with orange/amber backligting too, at least on some models. They are rather expensive though, but sound quality is pretty much the best you can get with Nakamichi as well.
I personally use a stock Clarion headunit out of an 86 sport with a 9-band equalizer, but I spliced the cable going from the tuner to the equalizer to wire in a true aux input. I use it with my portable MiniDisc units, it sounds pretty good.

Icemark i agree with you 100% i am also looking for good sound quality. Evil i will look into that right now actually. and Turbo I have looked at nakamichi but they are really hard to find do you have any suggestions on how to locate them?

what the hell is that, Sureshot? Is that a cb radio? Or whatever they call it? As far as cd player goes, my friend gave me his mp3/cd player for free, along with 4 infinity door speakers, and a pair of Hollister pants. I'm going to buy his amp and 2 12" infinity speakers later on, too. He's what I call, a walking yard sale. If I don;t have to pay for it, I'll get it for free.

If I push the 300 watt linear with the 10 watt input, I get enough broad band splatter to come in on nearby cop radios.

There's always tons of Nakamichis on ebay, although every once in a while I have had trouble with electronics I got off of ebay. I'd stay away from something that isn't new-in-box. My favorite Nakamichi is the MD-95Z, but they were never sold in the U.S. and are impossible to find anywhere.

No question about it you have to get the clarion dxz745mp... or other similar models. If you want a bit of an aluminum look you can get the clarion dxz755 but ill let you figure that out. Take a look at elfking's set up which inspired me to purchase the same deck. It also matches the stock lighting very nicely once you mix your color out of the 700+ possible colors. :P
just thought i would post mine...matches the interior perfect, same gauge lighting also...i will take some pics when it gets dark out...i dont have a radio surround tho...
mine had cracks and i havent gotten around to replace it yet...

you can't tell the difference on the stock system (of course you've upgraded so thats a different game)
http://search.ebay.com/pioneer-dehp7...oZQQsofocusZbs looks nice in my car, thats the one I bought off ebay.
I dont know how this looks in the FC, im still a few hundred dollars short of my FC. But this is the clairion dxz755mc, got on ebay for 200 but its 600 new, i highly recomend me, it holds 6 cd's worth of music on its hard drive and has some nice anti-distortion filters.

Also you can chose your backlight from 728 colors or just have it scroll through them.
