The cause of Stall and AC/stall

88'rx7 stall when it starts cold or when AC is on.

I brought to the dealership to chk it out and they told me i had bad compression on cylinder 1 and 2. I would need a new engine.

Should i get second opinion or is this the real cause?

What cylinders are they talking about?? Mazda doesnt know ****, dont take it to them. It probably a BAC valve problem, easy to fix. Do a search for BAC.

BTW where in PA are you?

I brought to the Mazda dealership. They charged me $90 bucks to chk out the car. They told me the low compression caused the car to stall b/c the sensors didnt know what to send back to the ECU. It would cost $4000 for a new engine.

I appreciated for your comments...

They charged you ninety bucks to work on a car they don't have any clue how to work on? I hate dealerships. The fact that they told you that you have bad compression in CYLINDER one and two.. yeah..

that happens on all cars.. not necessarily stalling, but when you turn on the A/C, the RPM drops a bit until it compensates.. you might just have your idle a little bit too low (quick fix) and when the A/C comes on, it drops it below a sustainable idle.

I wouldn't be too concerned.. if that's the worst problem you've got with an 80's car, then you're doing pretty well. Just keep up on the regular maintenance, maybe have someone who knows what they're doing with rotaries check it out (aka NOT the dealer.. trust us)

One dealer on two separate occasions told me I had bad compression and would need a new engine.

First time the problem was a wire fell off a trailing plug. Second time it was a wet ECU (rainwater from plugged roof vents of convertible accumulated on passenger floor.

Find a mechanic you trust, learn to work on the car yourself, or sell it!

Well I kinda meant for you to search Up in the top right of the screen there is a "search" button. Search for 'BAC' or 'idle problem' or something. Youll get alot of info there.
