Cats?

I'm getting my exhaust custom made but I'm not sure what to do about the cats. Should I just take of the main cat and leave the 2 smaller cats, or just get a higher flowing cat? Are Magnaflow high flow cats any good? Also, will the cat help keep the exhaust quiet? I'm going with 2 1/4 pipe with a 2 1/4 Apexi N1 Muffler.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

ditch the 2 smaller cats and replace the main one with a high flow.....thats what i have.......still passes inspection without any problems.....i dont know much about magna flow cats, but i would suggest the bonez cat because the rotary produces unbelievable amounts of heat......and the bonez cat is built especially for the rx7 so it will not burn the ceramic brick inside due to the egt.......yes a cat will quiet the exhaust down.....a little

good luck bro

superpimp35, is correct.

The smaller cats do nothing except when the engine is very cold.

And I too have not heard about Magna Flow Cats and would be concerned about the heat handling. Most cats for piston engines are not nearly as durable as those designed to be used with Rotaries.
