Well i put my catalytic converter back on today so i can do emissions and after i got it on i noticed that the exhaust was somewhat white. it was very whispy so i didnt think much of it. i got down to take a quick whiff and it smells like its running very rich. while i was in the car running it it also smelled like something was burning. then it went away and i havnt smelled it since. is this normal beause it hasnt been on in a few years?? thanks for the help.

 

its probably just burning off some things inside the cat, since you hadnt put it on in some time.
