yes, I've searched and searched, but I can't find anything. How do you get the damn cat off? I removed the 4 bolts, now what?

yes I tried that, and it's almost like the cat is stuck in there, right now the joints are covered in liquid wrench. the whole exhaust is rusted, and I need to replace the cat.

wow, thats odd. i have never had it be that hard to take the cat off. usually the hard part is getting the 4 rusted bolt off, after that its pretty easy.

Take off your bolts at the flages where your mufflers go, take off the Y-Pipe, and pull the midpipe off. Thats what I did when I replaced my driveshaft.

that PB Blaster stuff is really great..spray it on and it dissolves rust after a little. also try one of those tiny torches u can get at autozone... or a real blowtorch : ) that fixes everything!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, try the PB blaster stuff, it can melt through a styrofoam cup. Works wonders on stuck bolts, it just breaks surface tension right up.

lol, I right now I'm just guttin the cat, I still need to be able to put it back on. I got all four bolts off, and the front of the cat has started sparate from the midpipe, but it's almost like the back of the cat is welded to the y pipe. I'm not gonna cut it off, cause i need it later. for now I just put the 3 bolts ( one of the studs on the back of the cat stripped the threaqs clean out of the bolt) on and let the weight of the exhaust try to break the cat loose. the bolts only tighten a shorts ways down the stud on the cat, and I hand tightened them as much as I could ( in case the cat came off, I don't want it to fly out and hit the person behind me).

I'm in the process of building my own exhaust system, and I was wondering if anyone sod 2.5" exhaust pipng? I'm making my own y pipe, and it's gonna be straight through all the way back. I have a guy who works at midas (yes I know) but he will build me an exhuast, 2.5" all the way back with a pipe ran throught the cat (whole reason I need it off) plus a Ravin muffler for $275. Anybody ever heard of them, and is that a good deal, or should I just bend and weld it myself?
