Unhappy CAS Gear in front cover

I just rebuilt my motor and everything was together and I thought I was going to get her to start up and nothing. Im wondering if it is possiable to install the gear that drives the cas wrong if it would spin the CAS in the wrong direction there for messing the engine timing up. I think this is what I have done so now if this is true I have to pull the whole front of my engine apart agian. Someone let me know so i can smack the **** out of myself if this is what I did.

yes you can install the gear backwards but it will still drive the gear in the correct direction but the timing notch on the gear will not set the timing correctly, you will have to try various positions until you can get the car running to set the timing at base.

Well from the way it looks it is in right I took the CAS out and looks fine but still its not starting its cranking like its flooded but I unflood it and crank it till I flood it again I have never had any problems unfloodeding any 7 before so I know it has to be something im missing I just wired a Microtech up so maybe im missing somthing there. But its fireing so I dont think so it almost wants to start then wont you can hear her trying. Maybe Maybe my motor isnt TDC I painted the main drive pully and now I cant see the markings there are some notches in it but I dont know if those where it. Is there a way to tell TDC from the E-shaft or on the front hub anything like that??

You should post on the Microteck forum for a Micro answer.

you can't tell where the bevel is by looking at the gear from the top, you can only tell if it was installed wrong by taking the front of the engine apart.

the bevel i am referring to is in the bore of the gear where it slides over the eccentric shaft.
