are all 86-91 CAS's the same? I have a 87 turbo with a 89-91 j spec motor with a 87-88 front cover on it. I set the timing with a timing light and it just dont feel right feels slugish. just wondering if anyones got any ideas?

I'd say all the same. Try this site and go thru all the parts listed for cas year to year to be sure. http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm
