Thats a whole buttload of money for an FC, but wow on the mileage. Yes it is possible. There was a Montego Blue FD for sale a few months ago with 3.2 miles or so on it. It was an Automatic though.

Go check it out!!!

Alot of the cars on auto trader are scams.. If its true I would pay 10k for a FC like that and easy 25k for a FC with 3mis on it!

Its possible but I'd be very cautious and look for signs that mileage is not accurate.

It is VERY easy to roll back the odometer on these cars. Back in 1992 I rolled back my kid brother's odometer on his FC as a joke. Here are some things to look for:

Very carefully inspect the two small screws that hold the speedometer guage plate to the speedometer. They are next to the speedometer needle pointer and must be unscrewed to remove the plate and needle pointer prior to rolling back the odometer. The small screws are black and unscrewing them almost always scratches them up. Also look for any small scratches or finger prints on the speedometer guage plate. Look at the screws that hold that

Visually inspect the brake pedal, clutch pedal, and gas pedal. A car with 16,000 milesshouldn't have any wear on the pedals at all. Carefully look at the screws and interface for the guage cluster panel assembly. Look for nicks or poor alignment as a result of reinstallation.

Check the engine bay. Low mileage car shouldn't have much crud in the engine bay.

I would also suspect that a low mileage vehicle of this age was a salvage vehicle....low miles...sitting in the salvage yard waiting for a rebuilder to come across it....carefully check for paint work.

I dunno about that price cause, kellys blue doesnt even show a value and NADA showing a high retail value at 4300 max. It has 5 records on the VIN number!!

I would be more worried about damage done to the car from NOT driving it. It's N/A, from not being driven couldn't it be possible the 5th and 6th ports won't open from not being driven? It's not good for any car to sit for long periods of time, especially a rotary. Never the less, Great find!

I dont know too much about cars sitting around, but is it not strange that for a car of such low milage, why would the brake rotors need to be surfaced? Maybe a hint of more driving... If not, those were a very rough 15,000 miles...

I saw a FD a couple years ago that said it had never been titled out, I think it was the dealers show room car or something, but it was $50,000 not sure if it ever sold or what.

A while back there was a GTUs on this board with 9xxx miles, just sitting and perfectly mint. I think he's still around too.

Very very possible.....My homeboy bought a 97 Mustang Cobra brand new from the dealership. Like three days later he got arrested on drug charges and sent upstate. He got out this year and is having a hard time selling the car due to the fact that it only has like 4000 miles and people think it is a roll back. Like dude above said check everything including compression. Another easy tell is to check the headlights bulbs.

Carfax is not 100% accurate. I had an SUV that got into an accident and it never made it on a Carfax report.

clean car, it's exactly the same car i had...red 91 all options 5speed. however i would be weary of the engine, when i bought my 91 coupe with low miles the 5th and 6th ports were clogged and it had a few other problems that had to be corrected soon after i aquired the car.
