Carbon Fiber Sunroof Process

Well everyone says they will make cf parts and that never works but i am honestly trying to get the sunroof panel. Once thats done i will probably be making inner door panels.

I got a sunroof panel from another forum member and sent it out to my body guy to get it refinished, and repainted so that I can make a mold out of it. I should be getting it back this week.

Goal-is to make the sunroof still operate, and for under 300 (thats the cheapest you can currently buy) ESTIMATED price for mine will be 200.

I have contacted boostd7 (something like that) about making a group buy for these on the forums but havent seen a response yet. So if any other mods want to pm me about it that would be great.

An fc3s.org "week" is equivalent to a human "three months"

But, they do have their hands full with a ton of silmutaneous projects.

Hmm....so your trying to tell me that after all this time trying to find a sunroof having no luck, and hearing everyone complain we need a cheaper cf sunroof panel. I deside to take the time and invest the money to build a panel and there now gonna come out with one?

Does anyone have a confimation on either when the panel is supposed to come out and what the price will be?

Has anyone ever mounted the sunroof in a fixed position without all the rails and stuff? I'd buy a carbon fiber one if I could get rid of everything else (making the sunroff non-operable) and just use it as a panel.

I'd guess the stocker weighs 15-20 pounds. It is a brick.

I'm going to be mounting mine without the sunroof apparatus, but targa style so it can be removed.

I haven't seen anything on eBay lately. I was talking to someone from FC3S.org about a week ago and they told me 2 weeks, $225.

didn't do your homework, search the forum for lexan, you'll find it. They aren't making them anymore though, you'ld have to find one of the guys and offer for their prototype...

or you could goto a glasshop too and say you want it made, and they'll make it.

Most FC guys don't understand what customize means... sure you can buy it off ebay... but thats not nearly as nice as knowing you havea one of a kind product, because you made or paid someone to make you a one of a kind product...

I want someone to make me a bolt in lexan panel that will replace the stock sunroof, be flush with the roof of the car, and bolt in just fine in a perminant down position after I remove the tracks and all sunroof hardware.

I'm too lazy to do it myself

If I had the time, I'd look into making my own stuff. However, not all of us have a lot of free time on our hands. I'm lucky if I get enough time to work on my car period.

Ours are finished, and I have just been waiting to finish the testing on them before I put out the pics and info on them. I like to have a finished product, then release it (anyone remember the body kit thing a couple years back? LOL)

Anyway, they are up on the site now. http://www.speedmachineperformance.c...l?v=1&pid=5789

The track can stay in place, and you can remove the motor assembly. You can also use a piece of aluminum strip, drill out 3 holes in each one, and use that to secure the panel to the car. That might sound confusing. We are doing it on our drift car since the whole area is bare from anything stock. I will have some pics of that when I get it installed to make sense

I didn't hijack it, I replied to comments and questions about my parts. If anything, the people asking about and discussing my sunroof hijacked your thread. Shipping is not included in my price. I'll start my own thread so I don't hurt your feelings.
