Carb Converted Fc Startup problems (pics) HELP!!
I own a 88 vert that was converted to carb before i bought it.
Here are the symptoms that my Fc shows.
On startup the engine turns but does not start.
Spark plugs are fine, starter is fine. Carb has gas.
So i proceeded to do the unflood procedure... funny thing is that the plugs were dry...not wet... after the procedure the car started fine. once started i noticed that you could not floor the throttle or else the car would stutter and die unless you took your foot of the gas quickly. The car also backfires when revved above 5 rpm and then allowed to receed back to its normal 1.5. After several tries all seemed well until three days later when it just suddenly shut off and would not start any longer. I made sure that the engine has proper compression so i am at a complete loss. Now if the problem was that the engine was not getting sufficent gas it would be understandable but then why would it backfire? Isnt backfiring a symptom of it getting to much gas?
If you guys could help me i would be forever in your debt.

I can't help with the running problem but the starting problem could be similiar to mine. I have to pump my gas 5-10 times before mine will start. It doesn't have a functioning choke. I have a Weber 48DCOE from a formula mazda. It pulls hard to 8K RPM after warming up.
