Is this car worth it? $200

I'm thinking of buying an N/A 87 that has its fair share or problems like needing a new engine, new seats (or just re-upolstered), some minor body work, radio suround, carpet for the hatch (or maybe just do away w/it), the paint is not the greatest but it will do for now.

But 2 major things are:

1) The actual hatch is rusting kind bad in one area
how much could I find one for?

2) The rear end was hit by a F*CKING MINIVAN (i hate
vans!!!) and it left a dent about a 1 cubic foot right
above the tail light and broke the tail light. The
dent looks like it would be hard to reapair in that
area.

What do you think?

I would pass on it man,

find a better one! thats already done, no damage, just get a wicked one with a blown motor. I just got a red 1990 GXL with some rust and a blown motor for 400 CAD.

look around some more

hmm..

$200's not bad. What's the compression numbers on the engine.

If there's not any frame damage, then you could bang out that dent pretty easy.

Is the rust around the hatch drains?

Body damage is always expensive to get done unless you have hookups.

Pass.. you can do better. Save your $$ for a better car with less work till you can enjoy it.

buy the car and use it for parts, don't try and fix it. $200 is nothing. I'm sure you can sell some parts out of it and make it back in a hurry.

You could make about a $300-400 profit on the car easily. Buy it and see if it can be repaired easily, if it can't then keep it for parts or sell them off.
