Got my new hood and sideskirts painted (pics)

Ron's Paint & Body here in Pensacola did the work, and the photos do the work no justice at all. They had nothing but the original blue paint code and faded/weathered piece of stripe material to colormatch with. Everyone who has seen it in person was taken aback to how nice it turned out.

The car is a 90 GTU and I just had the aluminum TII hood and 89+ OEM sideskirts painted to match the car.

Actually, the "sponsor decals" were on the car when I bought it. I've done so many changes to the car I think the only thing that I have that's on the doors are the Eibach Springs :-D

The stickers can be made at any vinyl graphics shop. Just print out a logo that you want and they can do it in any color you want.

I don't want to take them off until I get ready to paint the whole car. The stripes had been removed once before and it pulled the clearcoat off with it.

Very cool. A female "friend" of mine's mother owns a vinyl shop, and she said she would do my "sponsor" logos for free. I just wanted to see if they were painted. Very nice ride!

Yeah, when I first saw your car several months ago, a smile came across my face seeing another blue FC with silver stripes.

Looks nice. Glad to hear you plan to remove the stickers. Hope you don't lose too much hp from it

I'm just kidding.

It's only blue sometimes...it's a BASF chameleon color.

You really want to provide them with free advertising? I'd only do it if I were paid, and even then I'd have reservations about plastering someones logo on my car.. I've got tons of stickers that have come with parts, maybe I should offload them to someone who would use them.

I was gonna stick them on my friend's Metro to make fun of ricers.. but whatever. =p

Thumbs up Dare I ask...................

Remembering the silly flaming going on this subject.... but is there a Turbo under that TII hood?

Personally, I like the way you've put your car together. Very clean, nothing ostentatious . Alot like I'm working my Vert toward. Nice job!

Ahh, I was waiting for the inevitable question! Alas, there is no turbo under there yet. As soon as my Q45 is back on the road (threw a piston out the side of the block), the GTU is going on jackstands and getting a J-Spec replacement.

I chose to use the TII hood, because 1. It's lighter, 2. It looks better than the std N/A hood, and 3. I'll be using the stock intercooler this spring/summer when I do the swap.
