car won't start, starter/solenoid etc. works fine...

I thought I had a starter problem, but, turns out everything works fine in that circuit of stuff.

I went to go start the car one morning, turn turn CLANG. Stopped turning, followed by more futile key turning, nothing but a click from the starter engaging.

allright, have had no problems with the driveling other than the clutch being crap (not a oem clutch) I would assume that either:
1. The engine is jammed, seal broke, garbage in engine etc. stopped it from moving, or,
2. Clutch is malfunc. not disengaging.

I could simply test the latter by rolling the car around, but I have it up on blocks right now, so....

Any other possibilities/suggestions??

Thought I'd reply. Put a socket on eccentric shaft bolt and see if engine turns. If the car is on blocks, see if trans is in neutral, by turning rear wheels/driveshaft first.

allright, was only able to get a 3/8" wrench in there with a 19mm socket, tried turning both ways as hard as I could by hand, no move. Is there anything I might be doing wrong, or is the engine actually stuck?

are u still having starter problems? My TII just died. It was running fine. Thought it may be a battery, but when I put in a new battery the car still wont start. The old battery no lights would work etc. New battery, lights work, but still it wont start
