Car wont go into reverse, Oil pressure very high?
I have two questions
So we took out the transmission that was messed up and changed the rear cover of the old one and put it on the new one since the bracket T&R made didnt fit the new transmission becuase where the crossmember went was a lil bigger.
So we did that and i fixed the ground from the starter to the motor, which is what lead my SS clutch line catching on fire. I put an original mazda rubber cLutchline and we started the car, and it started up like a nice lil rotary. Car started up fine, idled fine, only question is my oil pressure is MAXED out!!!...
I changed the oil while i had the car jacked up, can that be a reason? I put a new oil fitler (K&N) and put 5.5 quarts since its max is 6.1 quarts. Could it be beacuase i have a exhaust leak (left muffler is missing) and the backpressure is making the car run high RPM's causing the car to make the oil pressure maxed out.
Now besides the oil pressure being high, my car wont go into reverse. Can it be because the transmission is leaning a lil towards the right. Can it be because the shifter bracket that has 3 bolts only has 2 functioning bolts becuase one of the bolts is broken inside the thread? Or could it be becuase the plate that the bolts go into is put on wrong, meaning it should be rotated and then rebolted on?
I hope that makes sense
My car doesnt go into REVERSE , can it be because the 5th Gear/Reverse connector that goes into the transmission is broken, and i need to get a new one. I asked in another post if anyone knew where to buy one new and i dunno what mazdatrix called it. I got one for like $30 is this the correct price?

Are you sure your oil pressure sender is connected and isnt grounded? You may have screwed up the gauge. Did you put the small condensor (small black box with single wire) on the slave cylinder?

I checked and it was connected. At some points it was really high like maxed out. But when it was idling in my yard it went back down to normal oil temp levels.
So whats this black box with a single wire , what is it
Where can i buy the 5th gear/reverse connector that goes into the ENGINE

There is an incredible and revolutionary feature of the 1.3 Liter engine. It is called a dipstick and is used to read the level of oil in the oil pan. Try it, you'll be amazed by how well it does its job.

Yo advice is one thing but dont treat me like im an idiot. I checked the dipstick and its right up to Full Not passing it its just shy of getting to full.
I drained the cars oil. Put the plug back on, waited 1o mins, put the plug back and let it drain again. Last time i did my oil change i put 5 qts. This time i put a lil more, since the book says its 6.1.
Its not that difficult, i will jsut drain .75 quarts out and run it again. Its also good to note i have an exhaust leak and the rpms were running high and not coming down as fast..

Overfilling should NOT affect oil pressure unless we're talking something really stupid like 10+ quarts!
The short could've killed the oil pressure sensor.
When you first key-on the ignition, does the oil pressure shoot up to MAX???
If so, the sensor is BAD.
