Car won't even crank...what the hell is wrong?

okay...so we're swapping over my motor from my old car (an '88.5) into my new car (an '87) I pulled all the wiring harnesses from my old car and transplanted them in the new car(the 2 harnesses that run through the firewall and goes across the firewall) I'm fairly certain everything is connected properly, but the car won't even crank.. at first I thought itwas just the clutch switch (the previous owner mentioned something about it being bad) so I jumpered the starter signal wire straight to the post on the starter with the key in the on position and...no crank, what does happen? I hear a clicking that sounds like a relay or maybe the solenoid trying to do it's thing, but also the fuel pump comes on... could a bad solenoid cause this problem? I have also tried push starting the car...the fuel pump doesn't come on, I solved that by putting 12v straight to the pump and pushing it while it is on...it is definately injecting fuel because I can smell it out of the ports (BTW, I have it running completely open at the ports) so yea, anyways, I need some help here...could it be the solenoid still if I can't even push start it? a bad ground? maybe a bad relay somewhere?

could be a HUGE number of things give nthat you've swapped harnesses...

I would first start by verifying that the starter IS actually good......jumper some power right to and see if she spins....

if the starter checks out ok, check the grounds and fuses....then maybe starter relay...

good luck

Have you taken a look at your MAIN engine-bay fuse? If it's fine, I'd really take a second look at your starter--maybe swap it out with a known good one.

got the starter going...motor isn't getting any spark either the coils/igniter are bad I imagine, what else should I check out?

Just two things also, out of curiousity
Do the traiing coils spark during ignition? Do the secondaries fire during ignition?

Battery has a full charge, motor is turning over fine...not quite sure if it's injecting any fuel now when I crank it hard to listen to it when I have to have my hand under the dash and the other cranking the key

okay so car is cranking now...I'm not getting any spark and the fuel pump isn't turning on while cranking...I can jumper the 2 pin connector by the AFM to turn the fuel pump on but it doesn't seem like it is injecting fuel while I'm cranking when the fuel pump is on...

Trailing coils fire during ignition (with the factory ECU...microtech doesn't)

Secondaires shouldn't be opening during cranking

You need to aquire a digital multimeter and the wiring schematics for the car.

Make sure the EGI INJ and EGI COMP fuses in the engine bay are good.

If you jumper the fuel pump check connector and the fuel pump runs, that means at least the ENGINE fuse is good and most likely the Main Relay is good. Can't account for the voltage thru the Main Relay being there though.
