car still wont run
first a little backgrond...i had an 88 se. i had the engine , trany, exaust ... well you get the point, put into a 87 gxl. i drove it 12 miles, parked it & it hasnt run since...ive put in all new fule system, the 88 ecu,& still nothing. when i put fule down the throttle body it runs for 3 to 5 sec. second , on the right frot fender there looks to be a resistor or relay of some sort. the plug from the wiring harness is not there. what is it , & is that all that is keeping my car from running?

download the service manual and go through the troubleshooting process for starting:

Sounds like you're getting spark & air, so mabey check for old gas, clogged fuel filter, etc.. I'd still go through all the service manual troubleshooting steps.

If the 87 was manufactured befor jan of 87 you need to swap the wire harness out of the 88.
Basicly you have high imp injectors on a low imp harness. So bypass the resistors, or put low imp injectors on, or swap the harness over.
If it ran and the ^ is correct then you burned ither the resistor in the ECU up or the injectors.
