+1. I was experiencing something similar and when I went to go trouble shoot, I realized that the plug for the afm was disconnected. Go figure?

It wouldn't hurt to try the de-flooding procedure. Pull both bottom (leading) plugs, pull the two fuses closest to the engine, crank the motor over a couple of times for maybe 7 secs each, shoot a couple of squirts of MMO (marvels mystery oil) into each plug hole, put the plugs back, put the fuses back.
Try it to see if it will start.

I concur with chwkrx7, start checking for intake leaks. Are you venting your factory bov to atmosphere?

Even if the AFM is unplugged, the car will still start. It'll register with the ECU a few seconds after then die. Also check for vacuum leaks like the others said.

Do you have any sort of compensation for the 850 injectors?

Even if you didn't, I would think it would still start.

The AFM is NOT used for fuel during START. It is only used once the rpms get over 500rpm. So if the plug is off the AFM, the car might start, but will not stay running.

I'd assume by now you have made sure the plug is on the AFM.

does it rev to 3k and then stall when you can get it to start? like most people are saying its probably a big intake leak or AFM unplugged. i would guess cracked TID.

yes, that is generally what happens with cars before they stop starting. if it never started at all, then you have another problem

but no seriously, check afm and vac leaks and report back to us.
