car starts, runs for 5 seconds and dies.. need help.

i had the same problem to and it turn out to be a vaccum leak.vaccum hoses tend to crack or leak due to old age mix with the high heat are engine puts out.doesnt hurt to try. good luck!

yeah.. i fixed the problem bro, the fuel pump wasnt getting power so i hardwired it to the battery.

How was it getting power when you jumpered it then? Maybe you jumpered the wrong plug.

Oh and I am just about done with my car man. Can't wait.

yeah, thats what i thought. i couldnt find another yellow two-wire plug though... so i said '**** my ***' and i hardwired the sumbitch to the battery.

mine did the same thing it gets enughgas for a minute then gets starved .change your fuel filter and open your fuelpump access door pull the pump and clean the strainer.
