Car stalling when turn on heating fan

I have a 1986 GXL and it stalls when I turn on the heating/vent fan in the car. When I am at a standstill and I turn it on, it stalls! I changed the BAC valve and it is still doing that. Any ideas?

it's either the BAC or the ecu. do a seach for for the words bac and ecu and you should find something on how to fix the ecu. there is one part that blows that controls the bac.

Very good, big one. I also was wondering if your engine was idling at 750 like it should . . . rotaries don't like anything low like 500 which would be normal in a Honda or other econo engine.

But the starter cranks ok and it recharges when I run the car. So can it still be a bad battery and alt? The battery was changed 4years ago...

When the alt starts putting out a low charge, the idiot lights ALL come on. Unless yours are on, Id look at the bac and ecu.

connect a voltage meter to the Battery. Start turning on your accessories and see if you get a voltage drop.

BTW my car would still start fine @ 9-10 volts
I just experienced the problems you got.
And my dummy lights a buzzer kept going off all the time till I replaced the batt.

Test the ALT and Batt. first. It could be something else.

Well before Mike sold me the car, he said he tested the battery and it was pretty bad. But, in the past few days I didn't replace it because it cranks and starts.... oh well, I'll see.....
