Is your emissions getup still in the car?

Im thinking you filled it to much and its going back up into the intake via the PCV

check the dipstick, is there more than required in there? I'm not sure on this, but do the 89 na's use an oil cooler? If they do, then you deff. added too much oil as the oil cooler would still have had oil in it.

Good thing this isn't a piston engine, adding too much gives you some really crazy pressures in the crankcase and ***** up the pistons. Im sure you just added too much, you gotta watch what your doing my man.
I didn't even measure it, I filled it up with a couple bottles after draining, and then checked the dipstick. Added a little more, checked the dipstick, etc etc

drain it out. a properly working engine should not eat a ton of oil, maybe 1 quart every 1000 miles unless you drive at 7k RPMs all day long...

worst case it could be that your side seal o-rings are cracked and leaking oil in which case means it is time to rebuild.

Well since you said it started after the oil change, just drain a bit out till your right at full and you'll be set to go

If your engine has high milage it could smoke if you droped to a thinner grade oil. My 12A did that. Went back to 50 weight and it immediatly stopped. Oil seals not 100%...?

naw it has low mileage, it was just rebuilt a year ago. but i think i might have just over filled it, im going to drain it all out and restart again tomorrow and see what happens. i hope and pray its not the oil seals, but things happen. if it is then im going to just have a t2 droped in.

Yea you added a quart too much, my 89 with a 91 engine (like it matters) only takes 4 quarts and even that slightly overfills the oil. But that may because my pan is bashed in (car the engine was originally in got wrecked)
