Car Shuts off when I turn on A/C
So here's my pickle. I have a 1990 RX7 non turbo. everytime I try to turn on the A/C, the RPM's drop down to a point that if im idling, my car will shut down. I had a friend who's says it might be something wrong with the alternator because the lack of power, but I wanted to see if you guys might know something else. When I do use the A/C (only when im giving the car gas and not just idling) its blows out fairly cool air, not the coldest, but its fair. Thanks for any help guys.
Check the BAC valve via the procedure outlined in the Fuel and Emissions section in the FSM. The RPM's should actually rise about 100 when you turn on the A/C. Sounds like the BAC is disconnected and/or faulty.
your freon is going bad..
if you want cold air.. change that stuff up..
but as in for the a/c making your motor die out..
i have never heard that problem
im planning to take out my a/c unit on my car anyways.
