Car runs, but will not idle

My car will not idle, it will start well and run when over 2000 rpms. Once it is below that it starts to sound like the engine is missing and just dies. I have replace the vac lines. There are no codes on the check engine light. Any help?

How many miles are on the engine?

Check compression, tps, timing ... etc?

If the engine is older with alot of miles I would start with the compression check.

I check the BAC and it is fine. I pulled the AFM and check the resistance it seemed fine. When I put the AFM back in the car I did not connect the wire, just to see what would happen. The car will idle with out the AFM, but it smokes. Could this be a bad AFM? A bad ECU? AS soon as I pluged the AFM in the engine died.

I was having an idle problem as well. I was told this was everything from spark plug problem to vacuum to needing a new TPS.
I figured out that the little screw I thought was part of the casting is the idle adjust...it works fine with a little tightening. It's almost dead center on the top edge of the throttle body that faces the front of the car. Just tighten the nut and you'll see a big difference.

So am I, only mine misses a little under steady throttle pressure, and surges a little.
